Defying Gravity (Fall 2023)

This sermon series is centered on the book "Defying Gravity" by Bishop Tom Berlin. He was elected bishop recently but wasn’t when he wrote the book. The book discusses how materialism and our culture keep us from living as generously as we hope or should. The hope is threefold. First, we should remember that we are all stewards of God’s generous gifts to us. Second, we should understand giving as an act of love to God and others more than an obligation. Lastly, most of us prioritize spending our resources on things that don’t build treasure in heaven.
